Arpita Pal

Post Doctoral Fellow

Arpita did B. Sc. (2009) and M. Sc. (2011) in Physics from Jadavpur University, India. She had pursued my doctoral study at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata, and obtained Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Calcutta in 2019. She continued working at IACS, Kolkata as a Research Associate till August 2019. After that, she had worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Rochester Institute of Technology, USA; till March 2021.

Arpita’s research experience includes theoretical quantum optical investigation of atom-atom interaction, photon-photon correlation, and quantum entanglement using cavity embedded realistic and model multilevel systems. She have also contributed to building the theoretical and numerical frameworks for the optical rotation of few-ion crystals in a linear Paul trap. Ionic rotors can be useful in precision measurements, studying rotational interferometry, nanofriction, etc. She is now interested in engineering quantum optics systems to explore nonclassical light, entanglement, quantum logic implementation in the avenue of quantum communication and information processing.
