Mariom Mamtaj

PhD Student, CQuERE

Mariom did her BSc (Honours) in Physics from Krishnath College, and later her MSc in Physics from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Belur Math, where she worked on a dissertation in quantum computation and information. Following that, she worked on experimental material science for optoelectronic applications during a summer research programme at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata. She enjoys reading literature, especially fiction, as well as climate non-fiction, travelogues, and cookbooks. Reading Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was a turning point for her—it showed how imagination connects with science and led quantum mechanics to become one of her favourite topics. She now looks forward to learning and contributing to quantum physics at the interface of theory and experiment at CQuERE, TCG CREST, Kolkata.
