Siddhartha Patra

Assistant Professor

Dr. Patra completed his PhD at IISER Kolkata on many-body entanglement, topological order, and correlated quantum systems, followed by a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Donostia International Physics Center, Spain, and a Senior Scientist role at Multiverse Computing, where he worked on quantum algorithms, tensor networks, and quantum-inspired machine learning.

His contributions include developing advanced tensor-network simulation tools—such as the Flexible-PEPS framework for large-scale combinatorial optimization using simulated annealing, and a tensor-network quantum circuit simulator that outperforms IBM’s benchmark results—addressing the need for accurate simulators in the NISQ era, where noise, limited qubit counts, and shallow circuit depths restrict reliable experimentation on real devices.

His current and future research interests focus on hybrid quantum-classical algorithms, high-fidelity tensor-network quantum circuit simulators, quantum many-body physics on complex geometries, quantum circuit compilation, quantum-inspired machine learning, and emerging directions in quantum error correction.
