Dr. Sauradeep Kar was awarded a PhD in Electronics and Electrical Communication from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India, in 2025. He joined TCG CREST as a Senior Research Associate (RA II) in February 2026. As a researcher in photonics, he specialises in analysing intracavity dynamics of global micro-resonators. His work explores innovative strategies for generating broadband Kerr frequency combs–equidistant spectral lines in the frequency domain–across various on-chip micro-resonator platforms. These research findings, supported by derived analytical formulations, enable versatile applications in communication, spectroscopy, optical tweezers, quantum computing, and broader all-optical manipulation of light pulses.
