Saptarshi Roy

Assistant Professor, CQuERE

Saptarshi is a theoretical physicist working in quantum information and communication. He completed my PhD in quantum information at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI), Prayagraj, under the supervision of Prof. Aditi Sen (De). He was the recipient of the Outstanding Doctoral Student Award in Physical Sciences 2023 from the Homi Bhabha National Institute.
He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Giulio Chiribella at the University of Hong Kong for three and a half years, followed by a seven-month postdoctoral position at Seoul National University, before joining TCG CREST.
Dr. Roy’s research experience spans quantum communication, quantum thermodynamics, continuous-variable systems, and quantum optics. He has also worked on indefinite causal order, primarily using the quantum SWITCH.
His current research interest lies in designing quantum communication and information-theoretic protocols with finite resources. Along with this central theme, he is also actively working at the interface of quantum communication, continuous-variable systems, and quantum thermodynamics.
