Saikat Ghosh

Research Associate – Fermentation Engineer, FTSI

Saikat Ghosh is an emerging bioprocess engineer with a strong foundation in microbial fermentation and upstream process development, bringing valuable hands-on experience to the food industry.

Saikat completed his B.Tech in Biotechnology from University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata and qualified the GATE examination with All India Rank of 109. He further strengthened his academic credentials by earning an M.Tech in Bioprocess Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, one of India’s premier institutions.

With over one year of industry experience, Saikat has developed practical expertise in microbial fermentation processes, with extensive work in operating and optimizing 10L and 50L bioreactors. His experience includes process scale-up, media optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure robust and efficient fermentation performance. His background in upstream process development in a regulated environment has equipped him with a deep understanding of precision, quality, and innovation — skills that are invaluable for advancing research and applications in food fermentation.

At FTSI, TCG Crest Saikat contributes his knowledge and skills as a Research Associate – Fermentation Engineer, applying his passion for fermentation science to support innovative solutions in food technology and microbial process development.
