Dr. Goutam Paul completed his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from IIEST Shibpur; master’s degree in computer science from State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany, U.S.A.; and Ph.D. in Cryptology from Indian Statistical Institute. From 2006 to 2013, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. Currently, Dr. Paul is serving as the HoD of Cryptology and Security Research Unit of Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. Dr. Paul received the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Award in 2012 and thereby spent one year in Germany as a guest scientist. In 2013 Dr. Paul received the Young Scientist Award from the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI). Dr. Paul’s research area is Classical and Quantum Cryptography.
