Sumeet did her Masters in Physics at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in 2019. Later, she took up a research project at the Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad, as a visiting research student for a period of ten months, which was followed by a research internship at Qu & Co, Amsterdam. She works in the application of quantum computation to quantum chemistry. This specifically includes tackling quantum many-body problems on a quantum computer/simulator
