Shabnam Siddique is the Academic Administrative Assistant and Centre Coordinator at CHINTA, TCG CREST, Kolkata. With over four years of teaching experience and a strong background in academic administration, she brings a balanced understanding of both educational practice and institutional management.  She oversees curriculum coordination, student admissions, academic planning, examination processes, and institutional communications. Committed to operational excellence and collaborative growth, she plays a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning and continued development of the Centre.

Akash brings strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting efficient and safe research operations.

Manu Sharma is the Zebrafish Facility Manager at the Sensory and Morphogenesis Lab, CHINTA–TCG CREST, where he oversees the complete operation, maintenance, and standardization of zebrafish research facilities. He holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, along with M.Sc. degrees in Zoologyand also in Toxicology from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. His academic training includes specialization in Fish and Fisheries, with strong hands-on experience in fish anatomy, neuroanatomy, and cranial nerve identification. Manu’s research exposure spans zebrafish developmental and environmental toxicology, with practical expertise in embryo handling, larval assays, behavioral phenotyping, tissue isolation, and neuroanatomical dissections.

Soumi Sukla, PhD

Dr. Soumi Sukla is a veterinarian with an M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. in Animal Genetics and Breeding from NDRI and IVRI. She completed postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge on viral immunology and helicase-primase inhibitors for herpesviruses, contributing to drugs now in clinical use. She has held research and academic roles at the University of Lincoln, CSIR-IICB, and NIPER-Kolkata. Currently, she is Head of the Animal Care Facility and Research Scientist at CHINTA. At CHINTA, she aims to contribute to ongoing research programs by bringing her expertise in virology and genetics to support interdisciplinary investigations at the intersection of infectious disease and neuroscience.

Krithika Ramachandran Jain, PhD

Clinical Research Coordinator & Research Scientist

Dr. Krithika Ramachandran Jain is a translational neuroscientist serving as Clinical Research Coordinator and Research Scientist at CHINTA, TCG CREST. She bridges clinical and basic neuroscience by fostering collaborations between clinicians and researchers. She earned her B.Tech. in Genetic Engineering from SRM University, completing her thesis at Harvard Medical School, where she also worked on acute kidney injury biomarkers. She holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and completed postdoctoral research at Joslin Diabetes Center, Harvard Medical School.
