Research Institute for Sustainable Energy
The Research Institute for Sustainable Energy (RISE) is established under TCG-CREST to perform high-end research and student training in the field of clean and renewable energy with a potential for significant positive societal impact. The aim is to motivate, teach and educate young minds to set and achieve higher goals in the field of energy science and technology and its implications for the emergent world. The goal is also to bring together and nurture exceptional talent and unleash the same in the domains of discovery and innovation by providing an ambience of exceptional infrastructure and total freedom to create and apply new knowledge through entrepreneurship avenues and Industry interactions.
Our research has major focus on
• Emphasis on the use of Earth Abundant Materials for cost effectiveness of applications
• Novel Device Concepts & Architectures
• Intellectual Property Creation Keeping Pace with Emerging Technology Trends
• Outstanding Human Resource Creation
RISE is conducting comprehensive researches in valuation of different schemes for CO2 reduction, Interface engineering, and identification of challenges
Research focuses on innovative hydrogen generation schemes as well as storage and transportation of hydrogen considering Weight, Cost, Performance and Application Domain analysis
Research focuses on in the next-generation solid state and rechargeable and flexible battery technologies due to safety , operating temperature range, and potential high energy density in comparison to traditional liquid electrolyte-based systems.
RISE will continually publish scientific papers in International journals of repute based on the research conducted by the staff and students. It also work on publication of scientific journals and book reviews.View All
Initially, RISE will start an MSc and PhD course starting July 2021. This will be pursued in collaboration with IISER Pune and other institutes following different MOUs that have been or will be signed in due course.
There is also a plan to start a two year M.Tech. course in Energy Materials and Technology. In addition to the course work, this will have a strong component of hands-on laboratory work practice providing insights into the research field.
Glimpse of our
Campus & Facilities
The RISE Laboratory of Energy Materials and Devices occupies an area of 10,000 square feet. This space is compartmentalized into a materials synthesis lab and a device characterization lab, all conforming to the highest safety standards.
Besides this the facility has classrooms for both conducting academic lectures for both in-house and online classes.
Device Fabrication Lab
The Device Fabrication Lab is one of the primary section of the RISE Battery Lab with state-of-the-art infrastructure and scientific equipments.
