Research Institute for Sustainable Energy

The Research Institute for Sustainable Energy (RISE) is established under TCG CREST to perform high-end research and student training in the field of clean and renewable energy with a potential for significant positive societal impact. The aim is to motivate, teach and educate young minds to set and achieve higher goals in the field of energy science and technology and its implications for the emergent world. The goal is also to bring together and nurture exceptional talent and unleash the same in the domains of discovery and innovation by providing an ambience of exceptional infrastructure and total freedom to create and apply new knowledge through entrepreneurship avenues and Industry interactions.

Initially, RISE will start an MSc and PhD course starting July 2021. This will be pursued in collaboration with IISER Pune and other institutes following different MOUs that have been or will be signed in due course.
There is also a plan to start a two year M.Tech. course in Energy Materials and Technology. In addition to the course work, this will have a strong component of hands-on laboratory work practice providing insights into the research field.

The RISE Laboratory of Energy Materials and Devices occupies an area of 10,000 square feet. This space is compartmentalized into a materials synthesis lab and a device characterization lab, all conforming to the highest safety standards.
Besides this the facility has classrooms for both conducting academic lectures for both in-house and online classes.

Device Fabrication Lab

The Device Fabrication Lab is one of the primary section of the RISE Battery Lab with state-of-the-art infrastructure and scientific equipments.

Material Synthesis Lab

The RISE Battery Lab will have three sections, one of them being the Material Synthesis or Wet Chemistry Lab. This will have lab benches , Fume hoods and other equipment and paraphernalia.
