Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECR) funded project: A multi-modal neuroimaging study to uncover the neural basis of cognitive flexibility in humans by tracking rapid dynamical changes during task switching and mapping them to the cortical networks using novel high precision signal processing tools.
The DasLab at IAI, TCG CREST (Kolkata, India) invites applications for a project associate to investigate cognitive flexibility—the ability to shift between tasks and adapt behavior to changing demands. This project integrates cognitive experiment design, neuroimaging recordings such as EEG and fMRI and advanced state-space modeling techniques to investigate the neural mechanisms underlying cognitive flexibility.
Position Details
Scope
- Conduct EEG and fMRI recording sessions during task-switching experiments with human participants
- Perform data preprocessing and quality control of neuroimaging data
- Develop and optimize machine learning-based neuroimaging data analysis pipelines
- Contribute to statistical analysis, visualization, and manuscript preparation
Collaboration
Opportunities to work with AI/ML researchers, signal processing experts, and collaborators from leading neuroimaging research centers.
Qualifications
Essential
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Biomedical Engineering with at least one year experience
- NET and/or GATE qualifications is mandatory for selection of the candidate
Preferred
Experience with EEG or fMRI data collection/analysis, familiarity with signal processing techniques (digital filtering, time-frequency analysis), neuroimaging software (MNE, Freesurfer), prior human subjects research experience.
